this one started out interesting. got more interesting as it went along, then...plunged into sci-fi riculosity. that's probably not a word. oh well. the book is well written, easy to read, and interesting enough not to give up on it. i realize it's sci-fi, but...at some point...why? this one could have gone without being written. there's a clip from family guy where SK's agent calls him in to request a new book. SK thinks for a second, looks around, and spies a lamp; therefore, the topic of his new book is a lamp monster. sums this book up pretty well. worth reading, i guess, if you're a fan of the author. just for pure pleasure...i wouldn't.

Didn't finish this due to time constraints. What I got through was OK. Seemed repetitive.
