O bitmeden önce uykuya daldı oğlum gerçekten bu bir zevk. Kenar çubuklarındaki küçük parçacıkları seviyorum.
I read all four of these books while on vacation to Catalina Island. Best vacation ever. Great books too.
Absolutely amazing portrait of contemporary multicultural London.
I love Tales of the City. I think Maupin has one more book for Tales. Mrs. Madrigal is getting old. I had lived in SF for many years. I like the way SF is changing in the books. SF is no longer the Barbary Lane of yesteryear. It got dirty. Maupin doesn't sugar coat it either.
When I started this book I had decided that I wasn't going to like it. I went back and forth on whether I liked it or not for the first few chapters. Mainly, I think, because how realistic is it to have a housewife meet a movie star and they just click as best friends? And one of America's hottest male movie stars? However, after the first few chapters when I was more comfortable with their friendship, I began to enjoy the book. I could relate to a lot of what goes on in Becky's life, and understand the need for friendship, wherever you may find it. I must admit there were parts of the book that rang so true with how I view myself and my relationship with my own husband that I cried! (and cried!) This is mainly why I decided to give the book a 4 star, instead of a 3 star rating. In the end, this is truly a book about friendship. And how we have a Heavenly Father who is aware of us and what our needs are at this moment, as well as what our needs will be 10 years down the road. Though I questioned the idea at the start, Hale is still one of my favorite authors.
