I remember spotting this on the shelf of new books at the library when it came out. I had given up on Foster a few years before, thinking at the time that the quality of his writing had begun to degrade. Still, I thought I'd give his new series a try. It didn't really impress me. Some of the ideas were interesting, and I'll admit that the book hooked me enough that I wanted to know how the series ended, but it was hard to struggle through parts of it. The most irritating thing for me was that Foster seemed to have come up with a bunch of mediocre ideas for fantasy stories and settings and then dumped them all into a single book as a long list of things the characters encountered on their journey. There wasn't a lot that tied it all together and made it feel like one story. It was just a bunch of stuff that happened to the same people, which isn't the same thing at all.
Great book so far but I really hope she finishes it someday!
okay, so they're not "just like the chem club" as somebody might have led me to believe (ahem, president...), but they are a group of girls who love each other so much. and in that sense, i can totally relate. and while we haven't gone skinny dipping in any water towers, you can't deny that we (well, the crazy half) almost went skinny dipping in long pond. had it not been for that ice and snow, we totally would have. i mean, we did pull the bongo drums out....
College admissions does not have to be this way. Makes me happy I don't work at one of these high schools. Great book for guidance counselors to read and parents and admissions reps. Why do we make college admissions this way?
