This is Banks' followup to A Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing. She follows a young Jewish woman from girlhood to adulthood through relationship after relationship, each one seeming like the end all at the time. It's interesting to see the character's point of view change over time, as well as to witness the changing/maturing of her familial relationships.
I really liked this book. It had me hooked from the very beginning and I love books that can do that. It was a very sad, hard road for the main character Jenny after losing her mom early in life and having a sister do nothing but wrong to her. She truly had some guts to survive what she did! This was a very fast read and kept me hooked to the end.
Last read it about 7 years ago though... Was mostly excited because I was 13 and all and happy to start reading "real literature."
