The Artemis Fowl books are so much fun to read. In general, I find well-written Children's fantasy books much more enjoyable than adult fantasy. Not to mention the heroine is a confident young elf who breaks into the "male-elf" world of law enforcement and earns the respect of her superiors. I love when that happens.
