In college, I read a great deal of Shirlee Busbee. At the time, these books were fantastic. Not sure how high I would rank them today.
This was/is/will be my favorite book of all time. Not only do i love the berenstein bears and feel like a 5 year old every time i read this book, I also LOVE the illustrations. I mean, the candy bars look slightly like big lumps of poop, but STILL look so tasty! Everything is so colorful...i suppose the purpose is to steer kids away from eating junk food, but this book definitly heightened my affinity for candy. If there were 7 stars possible, I would give them all to this book.
This book helped me get over the idea that the past would ever be any different. It's not religious, more philosophical. As we learn to love what is, which I would also venture to suggest is what the Lord has presented to us, we can be happier, more effective and more at peace.
