An acclaimed, publicized new-release, I was excited to read it when I saw it at my library (so soon!). It mentions it is similar to the classic, REBECCA, but instead of being similar or paying homage to it, I felt it was a blatant copy, with a mere retooling of the original, bette, story. Difficult to get into, I fionalyy started to enjpy it halfway through...but the forst half was slow-going, and determination and not enjoyment was what got me through it. It did get hetter...but not much.
I can't believe how little I knew or understood about this war. It kind of reminded me of the Hiding Place. This was a book I couldn't put down.
