This was almost a history of the Blitz as it was a story of time travel, and this structure was made all the stronger by being a reader from "the future." The daily trials and tribulations of time traveling historians made for a very quick and satisfying read. But. The cliff hanger conclusion felt rather more like a manuscript cut in half than a planned two-parter, and unfortunately the first half of the next book suffers from the need to fill the number of pages expected of a novel. Also, the characters tend to be one of two archetypes: a) a neurotic future historian with a penchant for interrupting conversations or b) a ridiculous Londoner stereotype with a penchant for interrupting conversations. So read it all at once if you can :)

Hijinks! Funny banter! Time travel! What could go wrong?

I was sadly disappointed. It started off well and I was excited to see where it was going but the last two stories threw me off of the whole experience. I went in with no expectations and was still disappointed.
