i am officially a Dickens convert. before reading this book, i had only ever read A Tale of Two Cities, which was terrible. i had no idea how awesome Dickens is...until my dad gave me Bleak House. this book is fantastic. it's witty, funny, acute social commentary mixed in with a crazy, dramatic plot, all combined with a love story. and when i was done, i found myself wanting to speak in Dickens speak all the time. i kind of still want to. now i can't wait to watch the BBC (i think it's BBC?) adaptation.

i recently read this about a week ago. i had read it before and loved it. sarah dessen is a great writer for girls and especially for girls in high school. even though i cant relate to her stories im sure others can.

This week I re-read Thirteenth Child which came out a few years ago. Then I read the sequel. This story is not the action-packed magic story that I am used to reading. In fact there aren't any "bad guys" at all. It's the type of story where you sit and enjoy the descriptions and the creativity and just soak in the character. The only thing missing is a romance. I hope that's coming in book 3.
