Some funny parts, though I'd say David Sedaris is funnier. A quick read, great for a plane ride.
The last of Irving’s “big three” (Garp, New Hampshire, and this one) is unforgettable. The movie version became a pro-choice political statement, but the book is much more complex.
I have read this several times and love the characters more and more each time. The BBC recently did a fabulous film version which is the only one I've seen which does a decent job of portraying Mr. Rochester and Jane's quirky relationship without making him entirely cold-hearted and her painfully awkward.
Nowhere near as good as the arc contained in the first volume; but I think part of that might have to do with my having read the Sentry TPB right before I read this one. So, I was possibly on Sentry overload going into this one.
